Simon was admitted to practice in 2005 and now specialises in commercial disputes work and leads our growing Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. Simon predominately helps the firm’s long-standing commercial clients to avoid and resolve disputes in commercial and pragmatic ways.

Dermot is a Deakin Alumni having completed his Bachelor of Laws and Management at Deakin University . After his studies, Dermot joined our firm as a trainee in February 2013. During his traineeship, he gained valuable experience working in varied departments, and he quickly proved to be a valuable asset to our Commercial department.

Raj graduated from Deakin University in 2018, obtaining a double degree in Law and Arts, majoring in History. Raj embarked on her legal career as a Property Lawyer where during this time, she developed an interest in Wills and Estates. The opportunity to join our firm’s Wills and Estates department arose, and Raj, after completing a seasonal clerkship with us, returned to establish her practice in this area of law.

Jonah graduated from Victoria University in December 2020. During his studies Jonah gained experience through volunteer work at Victoria Legal Aid and the Ballarat & Grampians Community Legal Centre. He also completed a clerkship with a Legal500. All the while Jonah was working part time alongside our Corporate and Commercial Department gaining indispensable experience and knowledge. After graduation, Jonah joined our Corporate & Commercial department.

Tessa is also an Alumni of Deakin University, where she earned a Bachelor of Criminology and Laws (Honours) in 2018. After completing her studies, Tessa explored roles that utilised her knowledge of criminal behaviour, but ultimately decided that her true passion was in the legal profession. In 2022, Tessa joined our firm as a Lawyer in the Property department.

Sam is also an alumni of Deakin University where he completed both a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce, majoring in accounting. After completing his studies in 2020, Sam participated in our seasonal clerkship, followed by a 12 month traineeship. Sam was admitted to practice in 2022, and since then, has been working across our Estate departments, which includes complex estate and succession planning, restructuring, will preparation and estate administration.

Jill is the Practice Manager of our firm. With a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Computing and a CA Accountant qualification, she brings a unique combination of qualifications and experience to the role, with a deep understanding of the financial and operational aspects of running a successful law firm. Jill managers the day-to-day operations of the firm, ensuring that all administrative and financial functions run smoothly.

Amanda is a final year Bachelor of Laws student at Deakin University and will be completing her studies in October this year. Amanda has worked with the Family Law department in our firm as an Assistant and now as a Paralegal since 2020, aside from taking some time away from the firm to work as an Associate in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in 2023. Amanda re-joined the firm in late 2023 with a view to working in the Family Law team as a Lawyer upon completion of her studies.
